**Stop Press** - Aircraft fly over

The Tyabb Airport and Peter Barnardi have organised a flyover of vintage aircraft. With military style timing three planes will flyover the Hastings Foreshore Reserve at 1:30pm.

The planes include a 1941 Ryan p122, a 1947 Cessna 140 and a 1951 De Havilland DHC 1 Chipmunk

This Sunday!

The date has sprung upon us quickly this year. Yesterday (15th) Melbourne experienced one of the all time great Spring days & we anticipate this coming Sunday to replicate this - albeit with a slight sea breeze off the Western Port Bay - the stunning Hastings backdrop.

Entries are open to all vehicles - no exceptions to this

There are two alternatives for where to arrive- read below.

No Frill's Car Cruise Notes

We hereby advise that a comprehensive paper of "Cruise notes" will be handed out to all who arrive at Brandon Park Shopping Centre for the start of the event.

The Cruise will cover the most scenic country roads the Mornington peninsula has to offer, including the famed Arthurs Seat Rd.

Click here for the venue map of the Hastings Foreshore. This map shows the access point for vehicles on to the grass area - and shows the location of our various stalls.

Hastings Market Stalls to attend

The Hastings community is getting behind our event in a big way. The Chamber of Commerce has opened doors to the support of local businesses, and indeed that of the Thursday market stalls.

We are looking forward to seeing a few market stalls at the event.

Trade & food stall line-up

A superb spread of local trade, market and food stalls will support the event. This includes the Tyabb Scouts with a BBQ & soft drink stall, the Retina Australia Victoria marquee (pictured top right), Dippin Dots Ice Cream, Esspresso to Go coffee stall & Dolph's Automobilia stall.

If you have a business and would like to have a stand at this year's show, please contact Charles Rogers.

2009 awards to be presented

We are glad to have a few left over trophies from previous years' events so will be presenting a few prizes at the 2009 No Frill's event.

There will be 4 awards, three being judged by key supporters of the event and the final being judged by the public - People's Choice.

The other awards will be; President's Award (for closed cars), Chairman's Award (for open cars) and the Councillor Award (for the most unusual/unconventional car). These will be presented during the prize ceremony at 2:30pm.

Car club shows pull good turn-outs

2009 Mustang Round-up, Studebaker & Citroen Concours’
Date: Sunday 18th October

The Cars of the World team visited these three events this year. The first, the Mustang Round-up saw 256 Mustang’s on display with the guest of honour being one Allan Moffatt. There were some very interesting cars on show, including the limosine, ute and trailer – all can be found in the photo gallery.

From here we went to the Studebaker Concours d’Elegance at the Moorabbin Airport. A picturseque setting with light aircraft coming and going in the background. There were about 70 Studebakers there. Then it was onto Como Park North in South Yarra for the Citroen Concours. There was a complete cross-section of cars here from pre-war to current models, all up about 80 cars were there.
