Itinerary

Detailed timings of when the vehicles will tour through these areas will be posted on the web site closer to the event.

Sunday 25 November

ACE building at Docklands - 9am to 11am
Late breakfast to be put on by the VACC and ACE at the Automotive Centre of Excellence building.

The Fox Classic Car Collection car park adjacent to the ACE building to be used to park participating vehicles & Collection to open doors to public raising funds for Retina.

Tour to commence from the Docklands Precinct.

Vehicles to assemble at the Eastern Beach Reserve in Geelong as part of the Geelong Speed Trials gathering to unveil a monument to its founder, the Late Murray Rainey. Light lunch at the Beach House

Cars arrive at the National Wool Museum

Launch of photographic and art exhibition of the Great Ocean Road at the National Wool Museum

Cars depart for Barwon Heads

Cars assemble outside Barwon Heads

Community event on the shore of Barwon River – adjacent to At the Heads. This will be a memorial event to Howard Hitchcock

Cars depart bound for Torquay

Arrive in Torquay for parade, followed by dinner at the Torquay Sands Resort.

Dinner at the Sands Torquay Resort. Guest Speaker will be renowned author Joy Rainey (UK). A Jazz trio will also perform. MC is John Emery

Overnight in Torquay

Monday 26 November

Depart Torquay for drive to the Archway at Moggs Creek. All cars to assemble here in the car park immediately adjacent to the new Memorial sculpture for a photo shoot.

Official reenactment drive will commence from here heading toward Lorne in convoy. Possibility of taking passengers including politicians and local identifies.

11am

Official opening reenactment ceremony to take place upon the cars arrival at the Grand Pacific Hotel. Many other ceremonies to take place here, and will most likely be followed by lunch.

Depart for Apollo Bay. Leisurely drive arriving with further ceremony activity.

3:30pm

Arrive in Apollo Bay – All cars to verge left once hitting the shops to go through the recreation toll booth.

Participants to disperse to accommodation and book in, freshen up and then make their way back to the foreshore.

5:30pm – 9:00pm

Cars to gather on the beachfront oval adjacent to the Surf Club for a community BBQ event with entertainment.

Overnight in Apollo Bay

Tuesday 27 November

Cars assemble in foreshore car park on the Great Ocean Road in Apollo Bay

Morning flag off

Arrive at Cape Otway Lightstation for morning tea, and more importantly a tour of the Lightstation and photo shoot of cars in driveway of the station.

After leaving Cape Otway head toward the Twelve Apostles Visitor Centre for lunch and a chance to find out more about the 12 Apostles.

Rest stop at the Twelve Apostles Visitor Centre

Lunch at leisure in Port Campbell

A visit to Cheese World in Allensford

Cars to assemble in car park of Flagstaff Hill prior to heading on a street parade through the town

Arrival at Mantra Deep Blue Resort

Shipwrecked light & laser show at Flagstaff Hill. Dinner will be served

Overnight in Warrnambool

Wednesday 28 November

Depart Warrnambool for Port Fairy

Morning tea and possible community event in Port Fairy

Drive to Cape Bridgewater – via Portland

Lunch by the sea at Bridgewater Bay Beach Café

A chance to sroll around Cape Bridgewater

Drive back to Portland and arrive at designated assembly point

Community event on the foreshore between 3pm to 5pm. This may include a trip on the tram car through the town

Dinner at Sandilands Restaurant. Prominent local businessman, Kevin Clunie is Guest Speaker.

Overnight in Portland

The Official part of the celebration tour concludes in Portland. However, some participants have decided to continue on for the Cars of the World event on 2 December.
